Early Intervention
Like everything else in life, early intervention is key and this is our guiding principle when dealing with each of the families we serve.
Meaningful Partnerships
Family Raisers partner with state and local boards of Education to develop programs and in the area of staff trainings. These partnerships are vital to help address the disconnect between teachers and parents, most often due to lack of cultural sensitivity and understanding which are sometimes linked to why families react negatively towards teachers and school regulations. Our observation in the course of our work is that there is lack of proper coordination between schools’ administrative and operational systems and parents.
Fix Broken Links
Family Raisers is the link that ensure parents and the schools’ system are in cordial relationship- key linkages in raising kids that positively impacts the family unit.
Academic Support
We identify, guide and support students and help steer them in the right direction in line with their personal academic goals.
Teen Talks
We organize workshops, symposia, conferences, one-on-one meetings as needed by individuals, families and communities we serve.
Individual and Family Counseling
Professional and informal counseling are one of the ways we have successfully intervened in situations with families. Accurate assessment of the he situations we are presented with helps us determined if the people would benefit from either a family or individual counseling. In some cases, we have used a combination of both.
